Reading Group: Family in Crisis?

This group will explore different themes of Catholic life and faith. The group is being co-ordinated by Dr Felix Martin and will meet every other Thursday from 6-7pm in the Management School, Room Meeting Room 5.

the last session of term will be focussing upon Marriage and Family. There is a crisis in the understanding of marriage and the Christian family. Marriage appears to many as formulaic, or it is adopted only as an expression of commitment after a long time of living together. This raises questions as to the meaningfulness of sacramental symbols in a desacralized society, characterised by the power of technology and the transactional nature of human relations. Come and join the discussion in the Management School, Meeting Room 5, at 6pm. Reading material: Benedict XVI, Deus Caritas Est, part 1 & John Paul II, Familiaris Consortio, parts 1-3.
