Following a surprise take-up of interest in a possible walking pilgrimage to the shrine of the apostle St James at Santiago de Compostella, we are planning a five-day walk (total distance of 100km), leaving from Vigo Cathedral (Camino Portugues) and making our way north to Pontevedra and Padron to Compostella. We will be staying in hostels along the way and living the simple life of a pilgrim. The plan is to start walking on the morning of Thursday 6 September, arriving on the evening of Monday 10 September and concluding on Tuesday 11 September. We are looking at a cost of about 150Euros per person, not including flights which you will have to organise yourselves. The closest airports for the start of the walk are Vigo or Porto, and for the end of the walk, Santiago de Compostella or Vigo. Please see Agata if you wish to sign up for the adventure of a lifetime!
