Our Weekly Gathering for faith exploration and catechesis in the Catholic Flat on Wednesday at 7pm.

This week we welcome a visiting speaker, Chris Robson, who will be giving a talk on the Lancaster Martyrs. Fourteen Catholics were hanged, drawn and quartered in the sixteenth and seventeenth century on the hillside of the present Williamson Park, for being Catholic. The effects of this persecution were profound with priests going into hiding, religious communities going into exile, families divided and children being sent over to the European continent for their education. The Catholic community responded to the persecution in a variety of ways, most quietly keeping their heads down, others plotting to bring the regime down. Come and listen to what will be a fascinating talk.

There will be food and refreshments available and everyone is welcome.
